Alternative Conveyancing was established in June 1997 by its owner/operator, Cheryl Alt, CPC, Licensed Conveyancer and Justice of the Peace.
Cheryl began her career in the legal industry in 1985 when she was employed as a Legal Secretary. Since that time she has continued to work in the industry, both for property developers and solicitors, in senior para-legal roles.
Cheryl has been a Councillor of the Australian Institute of Conveyancers in NSW for many years and in 2008 was given the honour of Fellow of the Australian Institute of Conveyancers. Cheryl has also been a National Councillor of the Australian Institute of Conveyancing.
For Cheryl the key driver behind embarking on the path to becoming a Licensed Conveyancer was the implementation of the Conveyancers Licensing Act of 1992. This Act resulted in consumer protection laws, previously not available to the Conveyancing fraternity.
The operations of the firm were originally conducted from home premises, solely by Cheryl. Since that time, the growth of the business has resulted in the employment of full time staff and a part time bookkeeper. Since 2001 the practice has been operated from commercial premises in the widely renowned Norwest Business Park. The premises were purchased by Cheryl due to the expansion of the business and to enhance the professionalism and profile of the business. The relocation to the Business Park and subsequent office fit out has enhanced the profile of Alternative Conveyancing. This has only been reinforced by the continual praise from visitors to the office, both from clientele and business associates, as to the decor, design and ground floor location of the premises. The office is easily accessible from the M2 and M7 motorways and has ample parking available.
